Eating healthy is now one of my goals, not perfect at it yet…but I am trying lol. I thought a picture of the most recent healthy meal I had was fitting for this blog. I watched my future sister in law (A former masterchef Canada contestant) one of the best cooks I know, take her sweet time in making this very delicious meal while I played with her beautiful son Elijah. As I anticipated the meal , I became more hungry. I wondered how long it would take for it to be ready. I could never forget the excitement I felt in my heart before diving into my plate.
So is it with God, We often wonder how long our valley seasons will take or when we would see what He’s been preparing for us….like a really good parent, God does not speed us through our seasons of developments. He loves us too much He takes His time… He slow cooks us and patiently prepares us for His purposes!
You might be a person currently going through the fire, know that you are being refined by God through the fire. You might be going through a dry season, understand sometimes God has to empty us to fill us with Him. He breaks us, refines us, develops us, matures us, changes our perspective and then we become more like His son Jesus Christ. Be encouraged by David who saw his afflictions as a good thing.
My suffering was good for me, for it taught me to pay attention to your decrees- David in Psalm 119:71.
David’s training in the valley lasted a while; he had waited 12 years from the time he was anointed until he was crowned king, and yet he had a great appreciation for the long rough seasons he had. We would also see Joseph in training in Genesis, which lasted a while; he waited 13 years for the fulfillment of his God-given dream. Moses would wait 40 years until it was God’s time for him to rescue Israel. We too must have the right perspective while in tough seasons, knowing God is preparing us for something great. David, Joseph and Moses were some of the greatest leaders in the bible who through a series of intense trainings and sufferings became all that the Lord had called them to be.
If you are a strong believer going through a tough season, know you are in a perfect position to be used in a big way by God. Have the right attitude like David and see your challenging season as a preparation for the good thing God wants to bring about through your life. God has to break in us, before He can break-through us. Declare His goodness knowing He is always doing something good in your life.
Maybe someday we’ll understand our rough seasons were designed to reveal the conqueror and champion that God has made us to be for Him. God is such a good Father, He sometimes has to take us through the valley to prepare us for the answer to our prayers. He eventually releases what we been praying for in His time. He often gives us the gift of His hunger and the valley produces hunger, and the hunger kills our flesh. It is then we receive His feast of breakthroughs. God is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.
Declare this while you press on, I am a conqueror and co-heir with Christ…So firm on His promise I’ll stand.
