Our 2020 with JESUS!

It has been widely said that this year has been hard for many people. The world had to deal with a global pandemic and social political upheaval which threatened the safety and financial capacity of the nation at large. However, looking back at 2020, we can see how Jesus Christ disrupted the chaos and allowed his gospel to spread in unprecedented circumstances. For us, each step forward led to a new transition, and it was actually very exciting. The video and digital content we have shared over the last couple of months are in direct extension of the Lord pushing us to be more intentional on sharing the gospel and winning souls for the Kingdom – even during a pandemic. Rather than the pandemic striking fear into our hearts, the conviction we had was to use this pandemic to shout even louder about the gospel. The videos and interviews themselves have not only been impactful to viewers, but for the souls behind the scenes who were prayed for and offered the good news of salvation. These stories feature real people encountering a very real saviour, a journey we were blessed to be a part of.

At the beginning of 2020, we had no idea that one fellowship meeting at the Marilyn Monroe Condo ( in the heart of Mississauga ) would prepare us for what was to come for the rest of the year ahead. Due to unexpected detours with covid-19 restrictions, our monthly fellowship meetings at the YMCA were unfortunately paused. Like many people, I wondered what was next. But, I stood on Proverbs 3:6, “in all your ways acknowledge Him and He will make your path straight”. As we reflect on 2020, it was filled with new beginnings and courageous leaps of faith that have left us often asking the Lord, “what’s next?”. We went from connecting with fellow believers over Zoom to relocating church services outside when the doors were closed. One request after another poured in for river baptisms and then when the winter season approached, we advanced deeper into street preaching and evangelism. For December, we organized our first international virtual conference called ‘Refire Weekend’. We had the pleasure of featuring some of the best christian communicators in the world such as Eric Gilmour of Sonship International and Michael Dow of Burning Ones Ministry. In total, we reached thousands of viewers over the course of the 3 day conference!

We give God all the glory for what He did in and through us this year. The sharing of the gospel during a global pandemic could only have been achieved by the Holy Spirit leading every encounter. We are so thankful for the many families in need we were able to support in various parts of the world and here at home. Looking ahead to 2021, there is a call to rise up into the harvest field. Jesus is hiring, and He is looking for laborers who are willing to come. Our goal heading into 2021, is to raise up and equip more disciples, who in turn, will continue the cycle for the purpose of spreading the gospel even further for Jesus Christ.

We are excited about entering into a new year with Christ and believing for many more adventures, and testimonies to follow.
