One of the most Christ like things we can ever do as believers is to find out how people are doing where ever God has us re-presenting Him…..this act of compassion always sets  the atmosphere for God to do something unique. Always remember you can be an Open Heaven for others.

In my book signings across the GTA (Greater Toronto Area), I have had the privilege of meeting so many incredible people, including those that are hurting bad. I recently heard of someone’s fiancé that had committed suicide the night before their bridal shower party which was a very tough news to hear. While many thoughts crossed my mind, I was quick to offer some prayers.

Suicidal-thoughts are from Satan, he is a thief. He has robbed many from living out their God ordained destiny, he has many more hostage in prison. We must all be aware that the devil is still in the business of killing, stealing and destroying lives. We are encouraged in (2 Corinthians 10:5) to take every thought captive and make them obedient to Christ. When Satan shoots those suicidal thoughts at you, take it captive in Jesus name! Jesus has power over every defeating and discouraging thoughts that comes at us.

Too many deaths have been triggered by suicidal thoughts; it’s time to be intentional in how we take every thought that is not of God captive. Whatever it is you are going through, you can talk yourself off the ledge and your situation through the lens of God’s sovereignty. You can discover a life of calm!.

I am reminded by the words of Max Lucado, Talk to God. Listen for his song. Share about your hurt with someone. Seek help. Place yourself in a position to be found by hope. Weeping comes. But so does joy. Darkness comes, but so does the morning. Sadness comes, but so does hope. Sorrow may have the night, but it cannot have our life.
