They said to each other, “Did not our hearts burn within us while he talked to us on the road, while he opened to us the Scriptures?”- Luke 24:32
Jeremiah also worried of holding God’s word in, ‘’But if I say, “I will not mention his word or speak anymore in his name,” his word is in my heart like a fire, a fire shut up in my bones-Jeremiah 20:9.
There are so many people that are on fire for Jesus on the inside, but they don’t bring the heat on the outside. We live in a cold world, where the hearts of many are cold. We must respond to God’s word that’s burning in our hearts and let our lights shine. God’s love is like fire; when it ignites and spreads it can transform anyone. When God demands more of us, it’s because He sees more in us! God has not called us to survive the world but to change it for His glory. If you are having moments when you don’t know, and can’t see or feel God; Believe He is up to something powerful in your life.
I want to use the remaining part of this devotional to encourage those that are lover’s of Jesus and are bringing the heat to various places; while you’ve had disappointment over the months or maybe years, you heard it said to you while faithfully serving that “God has something better planned for you’’. While this statement is true, we have to be well positioned and marching with purpose to see the great things God has planned for us come to pass.
Over the years, when I respond to the fire I felt in my heart with the help of the Lord, I sometimes was in the middle of a disappointing situation. I would hear these words, “Solomon, God has something better planned for you’’, but the truth is that I had doubts. I eventually learned being a light in the world does not mean everything in our lives will work out just how we planned, but it will work out just how God has it planned.
You may be waiting for a spouse, a good job, the dream house, or waiting for that better thing you were told God has coming. I want you to know here that God’s promises for your life still stand.
• Don’t stop declaring God’s word over your life (Acts 20:32)
• Live a lifestyle of gratitude mixed with hymns and praises to God (Ephesians 5:19)
• Don’t become weary in doing good, for at the proper time you will reap a good harvest (Galatians 6:9)
Keep up the faith and believe Gods promises for your life will be FULFILLED!
Solomon
